The 2016 Toyota Prius is the fourth generation of Toyota’s groundbreaking hybrid car. Since it was first introduced, it has gone from being a rather unattractive sedan to a stylish hatchback with a spacious cabin and enough room to carry significant amounts of cargo, thanks to its hatchback configuration.

The Toyota Parts Center in Olathe, Kansas has created a graphic that tracks the changes the Prius has gone through in the past 15 years and shows why the new car is the best Prius yet. It is lighter and longer than prior models but gets 30% better fuel economy than the original.

The company says the new Prius will offers drivers better handling than its predecessors, but that’s something that can’t be expressed in a graphic. We will have to wait for feedback from testers and owners before we know if that claim is valid.
